Body Mass Index Calculator
The body mass index is a great way to determine when those extra pounds might translate into a health risk. BMI gauges your weight and height as a quick indicator of overall fitness. A person with a BMI of 26-27 is about 20% body fat and only carries a moderate health risk. However if your BMI is above 30 your health risks are high. NOTE: active people who use weight training on a regular basis will not get accurate BMI results, we suggest a body-fat percentage tests done by a professional… this is the most accurate way to determine body-fat to lean mass ratio.
Fat Burning Zone Calculator
Unfortunately, most people believe the famous saying “no pain no gain” However, a person who is desperately trying to lose body-fat and tone-up will not burn significant body fat unless their cardio levels are low. Why? Fat is a very sluggish fuel source and only burns when cardio is done between 55-75% of your maximum heart rate – anything above 75% requires sugar which burns fast and powerfully, so once your sugar levels are depleted (about 10 minutes into your cardio) your body will convert protein into sugar (glucose)- In other words, you will be burning muscle and that will translate into a smaller person with less muscle tone... and no one wants to be thin and flabby?

Studies show that just 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a week of cardio at a high percentage of your maximum heart rate can increase your cardiovascular capacity and even double it—increasing your cardiovascular fitness! It’s like weight training for your heart!
